Top seed Tipsarevic sets final date with Raonic

CHENNAI, Jan. 7, 2012 _ Serbian top seed Janko Tipsarevic set a final date with rising Canadian Milos Raonic in the Aircel Chennai Open 2012 after he eased past Japanese qualifier Go Soeda 6-1, 6-4.

World No. 9 Tipsarevic, semifinalist in the previous two editions, stopped Soeda’s inspired run in the semifinals with a clinical display to move into his eighth Tour final.

Tipsarevic broke his 120th ranked opponent in the second and fourth games to bag the opening set with consummate ease.

The gritty Japanese, who beat defending champion Stanislas Wawrinka in the semifinals, put up a fight in the second as the pair traded breaks before the 27-year-old Tipsarevic broke his opponent in the seventh game to coast through.
