Roger-Vasselin makes his Lucky Loser break count

CHENNAI, Jan. 3, 2011 - Frenchman Edouard Roger-Vasselin made his Lucky Loser break count by packing off compatriot Eric Prodon 6-4, 6-3 to move into the second round of the 2012 Aircel Chennai Open on Tuesday.

Roger-Vasselin lost in the final round of the qualifiers in the 17th edition of India's only and South Asia leading ATP World Tour event, and was packing his bags when Indian ace Somdev Devvarman's misfortune turned out to be a his lucky break as he got an entry into the main draw as a lucky loser.

Devvarman pulled out of the tournament due to a recurring shoulder injury following medical advice to preserve himself for the Australian Open later this month.

Roger-Vasselin will meet Swiss defending champion Stanislas Wawrinka in the second round.
