Wawrinka into his second consecutive singles final at the Aircel Chennai Open

3rd seeded Stanislas Wawrinka (SUI) defeated top seeded Czech Republican Tomas Berdych (CZE) 6-4, 6-1 in the singles semi finals match at the 2011 Aircel Chennai Open.

The 3rd seeded Wawrinka got 71% of his first serve in and served 4 aces to win the first set 6-4. Wawrinka once again served 3 aces in the second set broke his opponent’s serve twice to win it 6-1.

The crowds at the stadium cheered on for the 3rd seeded Swiss player as he hit the last ball into the crowd after his victory at the semi finals.

Stanislas Wawrinka, who lost in the finals last year to Marin Cilic, will now play against 7th seeded and 2007 singles champion, Xavier Malisse (BEL) in the finals.
